The vision for Salt and Roses was sparked in 2017 when founder, Kailee Mathews, decided it was time to do more. As a young adult living with Cystic Fibrosis, she understood first-hand the importance of raising awareness.

It is essential for those with Cystic Fibrosis to live a healthy, balanced, and active life. This was the inspiration behind Salt + Roses. Our goal at S+R is to promote healthy living in all aspects of life. We want to inspire all of our followers to live healthier while supporting an excellent cause!

who are we

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Caused by a faulty CFTR protein, CF leads to thick mucus buildup that can clog airways, trap bacteria, and cause infections, respiratory failure, and digestive issues. What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Fibrosis Foundation, life expectancy has drastically improved since the 1950s. What was once a fatal childhood disease now sees many living full, vibrant lives. But there’s still no cure. Why Salt + Roses

People with Cystic Fibrosis have an imbalance of salt and water in the body and are often very salty to the touch – this is where the ‘salt’ part of our name originates. Prior to the unbelievable strides made by doctors, scientists, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, CF was the number one genetic killer of children. Many of those children with

CF could not say Cystic Fibrosis, so “65 Roses” came about – and is also where the ‘roses’ part of our name comes form. Our logo is simply the marriage of the two; the chemical symbol for salt and a rose.Paragraph

Hi, I’m Kailee — wife, mom, entrepreneur, realtor, and CFer just out here doing the most (and occasionally the least). I love Jesus, coffee, sushi, and a good DIY project that takes twice as long as it should. My husband and I own a mix of short- and long-term rentals, so real estate is always part of the chaos. When I’m not selling houses or chasing kids, you’ll find me gardening, reading, singing off-key, or turning something old into something Pinterest-ish. Around here, expect humor, real life, and projects that may or may not go as planned.
